THE WINERY

Winery on the Island of Elba for the purchase and tasting of wines

The Winery, which was founded in 2010, was devised and implemented by the great architect and designer Tobia Scarpa.
Simplicity, functionality and a proper integration into the landscape are the three main elements of this project; a construction made of local stone placed in a wild landscape, which recalls the industrial architecture of the nearby mines of Calamita and Ginevro.
The Winery is part of a network that brings together all the Tuscan wineries with architectural significance: Toscana Wine Architecture (winearchitecture.it).

The building is spread over three levels and answers to the logistics of the transfer of products by means of gravity while the roof of the winery consists of a terrace used for drying the grapes with an incredible view of the surrounding vineyards, the coasts of the island and the other islands of the archipelago.
The new winery is a real work tool where every function has its own space with a logical path of production.
Our guided tours illustrate all these features and are bookable in season.

The tour faithfully follows this path, allowing you to understand the processing cycle and ends at the tasting room and a small shop for direct sales.
